RIP Black Panther Actor!!! Knowing the Symptoms, Causes and How to Prevent Colon Cancer

Black Panther actor Chadwick Bosman passed away at his home in Los Angeles, USA. He died four years after suffering from bowel cancer.
Colon cancer is a type of cancer that affects the large intestine or the end of the digestive system.
Older adults usually suffer from this type of cancer.
However, it does not exclude those who are still susceptible to this cancer.
The primary formation of this cancer usually begins with the formation of polyps within the large intestine. Over time, these benign tumors continue to develop and become cancerous.

Symptoms

According to the American Cancer Society, symptoms of colon cancer can include infection, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome, or colitis.

However, these symptoms are not specific. People with these symptoms do not necessarily have cancer.

Other symptoms that indicate colon cancer include:
1. A change in bowel habits that lasts for more than a few days
2. Rectal bleeding
3. The presence of blood in the stool
4. Cramps or pain in the abdomen
5. Suffering from extreme fatigue and extreme weight loss.

Reason

According to Healthline data, cancer can be caused by gene mutations that cause abnormal cell accumulation.

An abnormal accumulation of cells can occur in the lining of the large intestine and the formation of polyps. Gradually, the tumor will enlarge and attack the surrounding normal cells.

Various factors can increase the risk of colon cancer.

The following factors lead to colon cancer:
1. Obesity
2. Smoking lifestyle
3. Excessive alcohol consumption
4. Suffering from type 2 diabetes
5. Passive lifestyle
6. Eat more processed food.

Protection

According to the Mayo Clinic, there are several ways in which we can reduce the risk of colon cancer. Here's how:

1. Eat a variety of vegetables, fruits and whole grains

Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains contain vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants, which can play a role in preventing cancer.
Choose a variety of fruits and vegetables so we get a variety of vitamins and nutrients.

2. Reduce alcohol consumption

Several studies have shown that excessive alcohol consumption can increase the risk of colon cancer.
That is why we must avoid or reduce alcohol consumption. For men, it is best to reduce alcohol consumption to no more than two drinks per day.
For women, reduce alcohol consumption to no more than one cup per day.

3. Stay away from smoking

Long-term smoking is associated with an increased risk of colon and rectal cancer, as well as many other types of cancer.
For this reason, we must stop smoking to reduce the risk of cancer.

4. Exercise routine

Exercise helps maintain our health, including reducing the risk of colon cancer.
To obtain these benefits, we must exercise for at least 30 minutes every day.
